Care and Repair

CARING FOR YOUR TÖASTIE | TINY EXPLORER PUFFER
Our puffer jackets are machine washable on a low heat. Please follow the cleaning instructions below.
For stain removal we recommend gently scrubbing the area with a detergent.
When washing your down-filled jacket, we recommend you use a specially designed down cleaner. There is a wide selection available online. Using regular detergent can strip the natural oils out of the down structures, which will decrease performance and cause clumping.
Step 1. Open main zipper. Close all fasteners.
Step 2. It is recommended that you clean the detergent compartment and run the machine on a hot wash cycle to rinse it of residual detergent in advance of washing your puffer.
Step 3. Set the cycle to delicate / wool cycle (a low heat, gentle setting).
Step 4. Once the cycle is finished set the machine to rinse once or twice more - it is important to ensure that all the detergent is rinsed from the down.
Step 5. Take the jacket out of the machine and gently shake to remove excess moisture.
Step 6. Turn the jacket inside out and lie flat. Remove excess water by gently pressing on it with a clean towel.
Step 7. Place the jacket on a low heat tumble dry with laundry balls or clean tennis balls - this will prevent the down from clumping and help it regain its loft.
Do not be tempted to place it on a high heat. Turn the jacket inside out periodically to help the drying process.
Please be aware it can take up to three tumble dry cycles for the coat to regain full loftiness. We recommend that you tumble dry it with one or two additional items in the cycle (as well as the laundry or tennis balls) to encourage the down to separate by being bumped around a bit more.
It is a labour of love, however by cleaning your Töastie Puffer correctly you will ensure the down remains lofty and your puffer looks good as new.
